The 1966 Stax-Volt European Tour contains performance footage of the first major multi city tour of America's R&B superstars.
Superb performances by Sam & Dave and Otis Redding hypnotized the European kids again opening up new audiences for them and propelling them to stardom.
Features Booker T. and the MG's and The Mar-Keys.
Otis' breathtaking performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop festival gave him a new audience. Although he had gained prominence in the past, his reputation was limited to rythm & blues fans.
He so electrified the audience at Monterey that the world of pop opened for him. From that point on Otis' audience transcended all categories.
This is the extremely rare song which can be heard in the opening sequence of the 1989 movie "Speed Zone" which in some countries became known as "The Cannonball Run III". A great racing song. I recommend NOT to hear it while driving, it will automatically make you drive like a maniac :-)
Here they are: true legends of soul music live in concert: The Four Tops. Recorded 2004 in Miami. Including Levi Stubbs as the lead vocalist, which is a little sensation. Enjoy them and their great music.

The third and last upload from their "Live at the Palladium" DVD.
Again a cheery tune with three different singers although the second singer scares me a little.
Let's see what I put up next on youtube...maybe some Otis Redding stuff?
This is taken from a concert he gave in the Grugahalle in Essen back in 1984. The fans cheered for an encore, so Huey played some harmonica for them. Rare stuff.
After uploading 3 vids from the Doobies I'll upload 3 vids of the Harlem Gospel singers. This one is an incredible vocal performance from the singer.
It may start a little slow but in the course of the song her performance gets more and more powerful and energetically. She really put her heart and soul in this performance. Very fine song. 2 more to follow...
The Evolution Tour began in July 1996 and coincided with the Summer Olympic games in Atlanta. It also features the Miami Sound Machine. This particular performance as first seen on HBO, is a LIVE concert special direct from the Miami Arena on September 21, 1996 -- a truly "Glorious" night.
Thunder is an extremely underrated Rockband from the UK. It was founded in 1989.
This video was taken from their "Flawed to perfection DVD". Great music. In my opinion they rank among other great bands like AC/DC or Whitesnake.

Alright, so I took the ALF intro / opening credits and combined it with the corny "Perfect Strangers" theme.
I really like the result.
It's fascinating. The "Perfect Strangers" theme works so well with many 80's intros.
This will be my last upload from their fantastic 2004 Live at Wolf Trap concert. If you want more, please buy the DVD. "Without you" is one of their best performances and what you're about to see is rock at its best. Perfect vocal harmony combined with masterly guitar solos. A musical thunderstorm.
