Matryoshka is a Russian Nesting Doll. In reality, this crazy, screwed-up movie was made to confuse the viewer. There is no plot in this story at all; it was essentially created to be "an English major's worst nightmare."
Filmed from my Director's Workshop class @ NYU/Tisch this summer.
The scene is from Annie Hall, a film directed by Woody Allen and written by Allen and Marshall Brickman.
Directed by myself
Starring Ethan Sher & Rachel Buethe
Wow. I made this with my good friend Sam as a book report project in Freshman year. I've changed... quite a bit since then. I'm happy to say we released before the hollywood feature!
I was looking through my photos in Lightroom the other day, reminiscing about the different things I've done and experienced over the past year and a half or so, when I just started holding down the right arrow key. I zipped through all of my photos, revealing my last year or so in just a couple minutes. Little animations and cool effects appeared as I did it; things I wouldn't've noticed before.
Screwing around with my roommate who just got an HD camera (Panasonic HVX-200) for the weekend, and can shoot at 60 frames per second.
We played the song ("Celebration" by Kanye West) at 2x, and then filmed at 48fps (2x, or 50% speed on video). Worked well, huh?
P.S. I am officially the whitest guy on the planet.
While this is not a film of my own, I absolutely love it and I hope it will get a cult following of its own. Produced, edited, and directed by Sean O'Connor and RA Beattie.
